Gendi is a men's brand built around the idea that clothing is never just clothing. Every piece belongs to a journey — a deliberate exploration of a theme, rendered in fabric and form.
Gendi — pronounced gehn-dee — is short for Mugendi. In Swahili, it means traveler. Journeyman. I was named after my grandfather, Reverend Dr. Julius "Mugendi" Nyaga. He was a traveling preacher in Kenya and the United States. He would go from town-to-town to preach at the church’s he was placed at. Hence the name “Mugendi” was given to him.
